Evaluation Information and Procedures
What to expect...from beginning to end.
Typically, after you inquire with our office, your evaluator will contact you for a short consultation call in order to get an understanding of what is going on.
If psychological testing is appropriate, an initial intake evaluation will be scheduled to gather pertinent background information and talk about what to expect. At that meeting, the referral questions will be discussed and clarified.
On the testing day, the clinician will schedule a block of time to perform the appropriate battery of tests, measures, and questionnaires (about 4-5 hours over the course of 1 or 2 days). Frequent breaks will be provided. For Autism testing, much of the evaluation can be conducted remotely.
Once all of the necessary information is collected, the clinician will complete a written report that can also be used for reference, applying for accommodations, collaborating with other clinicians. A final report is provided after the feedback session.
Finally, a feedback session will be conducted and the clinician will collaborate, informed by the data gathered, with the examinee/family to discuss findings, diagnoses, and recommendations for school, home and further treatment.
